Graduated from Colorado State University where I obtained 3 years of sports broadcast journalism experience with two years experience in PR and media relations.

 

I am proficient in Adobe software, videography/video editing/post production, and fluent in spanish. My experience includes on air broadcast, post game interviews, feature writing and reporting. I am looking to use my skills and task oriented mind in broadcast journalism, more specifically in the realm of sports.

Collegian Television-Camera Assistance    Jan 2019-Present

• Volunteered and assisted with cameras during the broadcasts.

• Reported on countless volleyball games, and strengthened my on camera presence.

• Interacting with players and coaches and perfecting my ability to get the message across as fast as possible.

• Became very comfortable discussing such a topic and strengthening my ad-libs. 

Collegian Television-Men’s Basketball ReporterNov 2019-Present

• Created quality content; highlights, standups, press conferences, etc.

• Gained knowledge of a specific team so as to be more aware of my presence in the arena.

• Took some control over the events.

Collegian Television-Anchor on Laced Up    

• Grew energy on camera and therefore increased confidence in on camera presence.

• Received help from peers, when needed, and didn’t feel ashamed to have to ask for help.

• Run statistics and help with setup/take down of the event.

• Advanced to post game interviews and game recaps.

• Wrote compelling feature stories about the players.

Monday sports anchor-CTV    Jan 2019-Present

• Continued to produce content throughout a pandemic.

• Created packages I was proud of 

• Writing scripts was quite easy, at least it came to be. I got the hang of it and was able to write my own scripts that sounded more like myself than if I were to have read someone else’s writing.

• I did take part in the last show for CTV, where I had my own sports segment which was roughly half an hour long. I was given tons of content and came up with my own content to share with those who have been missing out of everything sports related during the pandemic.

Spanish Language Background:

 

Entered the Immersion Program in kindergarten and stuck with it all throughout my life, including sticking to it throughout college. I graduated highschool with bilingual honors and AP scores at San Clemente Highschool.
